LCPMD seeks a qualified Vocational Expert to critically evaluate an individual’s work-related capabilities, limitations, and future earning potential following injury or disability. Leveraging structured vocational assessments—including transferable skills, labor market surveys, and wage-loss estimation—the expert will provide clear, defensible insights and expert testimony that support attorneys in personal injury and long-term disability litigation. Qualifications:
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field; CRC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor) required
Extensive professional vocational rehabilitation experience across the public and private sectors
Skilled in vocational assessments: wage‑loss, transferable skills, labor market, and employability opinions
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written communication skills
Experience rendering impartial expert testimony in depositions and court
Membership in IARP or similar professional organizations, and commitment to ongoing professional development
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive vocational evaluations, including review of medical and functional documentation
Assess residual functional capacity and transferable skills impacted by injury
Perform wage‑loss and employability analyses comparing pre‑injury and post‑injury capacity
Design tailored labor market surveys and summarize job availability aligned with capabilities and restrictions
Author vocational reports built on clear methodology, objective analysis, and thorough documentation, ensuring defensibility
Provide deposition and court testimony articulating vocational findings clearly and confidently as needed
Communicate professionally with injured parties during interviews, balancing sensitivity and information gathering
Stay current with legal standards, occupational trends, and rehabilitation best practices
Expert Role Expectations:
Provide objective, well‑structured, and legally defensible vocational findings
Represent LCPMD professionally across stakeholder interactions
Maintain credentialing and fulfill continuing education requirements (e.g., ethics courses, CRC recertification)
Adhere to industry standards and LCPMD internal quality protocols
Ensure punctual delivery of evaluative work and expert testimony
Provide deposition and trial testimony, including occasional in-person appearances when required
